> 1 to recover from his past, > the other to fuel his future! I dont know what your season is... But may God strengthen you for the day you're in! Ron Carpenter, Redemption World Outreach Church Today, we return to the Why? series by Ron Carpenter. It is very powerful and I hope you are encouraged by this series. Have a Blessed day, Heather Healed of Cancer I’m going to open up with a Scripture, and then want you to sincerely let me walk you through a principle
and a story in my own life how it has happened. We are in our teaching series called, Why? He gave me this: Why is my life stuck in ordinary? Has anybody privately said to yourself, ‘Man, there has got to be more than this.’ ? Has anybody said?, ‘There’s go to be…wakening up, punching a clock, making a paycheck, going to bed, getting back up, doing it again…’ Sadly that’s where most people live. And everybody has felt that. And if everybody is not feeling it, there have been people who have walked through seasons – probably extended seasons - of their life where they’ve asked themselves the question, ‘I fought to get here and is this basically it?’ Probably been people who have asked themselves that in all areas of their life. That question begin to come to mind and the Lord had me jot down a story He brought to my memory. It’s about a 12 year old story. It’s not a story I would preach; it’s a story like I would be sitting down with my child and I just need to walk through it. But it has a great, great powerful message to it. So I just want you to let me walk you through it. I believe God is going to touch you. ‘Lord, help me to recall even the faintest details of this story that matter, and I pray right now in the Name of Jesus that my mind and my body be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. And I pray that the anointing would do what strength and what flesh can’t do. And may this Word come through my transparency and penetrate a discouraged heart. Lord, You said that you would give a Word in season. Let this be a seasonal Word, especially to the weary. And let them not grow weary in their well doing. Harvest will come…if they don’t faint. In Jesus Name. Amen.’ Tell your neighbor, ‘It will happen…if you don’t give up.’ 1 Corinthians 1. I’m going to start at verse 26 and read about 3 verses, and then, I’m going to give you a life story that develops this principle. For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. [That’s why we’re together in this church – one camaraderie that holds us together. Most of you in this place were handed nothing. And there is a theme, many things that connect this church together. That’s one of them. A lot of this building is made up of: > never-should-have-beens, > never-could-have-beens, and > never-would-have-beens. Your leader was never voted ‘most likely to do anything’. Okay? Except to get into trouble. All right? So there is a thread that holds us together and we realize that when we talk we resonate with one another, and you can feel it in the building.] For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. But God has chosen [Now, look at God. If I was God I wouldn’t do this. But look at God – that’s why I ain’t God.] God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, [Whew! Can I read that again?] For you see … not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. [I want you to look at this:] But God has chosen the foolish things of the world [Somebody look in there and say, ‘That’s me!’] to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, [Why? All of these 3 going into this last statement. Why?] that no flesh should glory in His presence. God is a glory hog. God loves glory. And God can’t get glory from things that already have it. That was a bomb I just dropped on you. God can’t get glory from things that already have it. So He has to take something that has no glory attached to it and bring it to a place of impossibility so that He can get glory. Why? Because everybody knows once that happened, there is no way YOU could bring it to pass. Now, you’ve probably heard that so many times where it sounds cliché. But it is no less true. When someone looks at: > the people nobody gave a chance, > they never had a name, > they never had nothing to themselves, > they never impressed anybody, > they don’t look especially gifted, > they don’t seem especially smart, and > they were not especially privileged, and He does something extra-ordinary with their LIFE, then God begins to get glory from it because it confounds people! People think that certain things have to happen for you to be great in life. And God said, ‘No. I’m going to go get the most jacked-up people, the most messed-up people, the most nobody people, the most people who haven’t been trained.’ He said, ‘I’m going to get them and raise them up so that these guys over here who have it all handed to them are going to scratch their head and say, “How did THEY get here?” Now, I said I wasn’t going to preach but this gets me excited. Okay? That’s the kind of people God goes after. So if you are stuck and mired in what feels ordinary, you are a prime candidate. Ron Carpenter, Redemption World Outreach Church The conflict arises when what God has painted in Heaven is not being lived out on earth. So what
you’ve got to understand is and I’m not going to say this at a high point, I’m going to say it at a low point, ‘cause I don’t want you to shout and miss the revelation… When there is something in your life that does not look like the picture: X God does not change the picture. X He’s not going to repaint the picture around your mistake. ✔ He’s going to change your mistake to move back in line with the picture. To all those that have made a mistake that should be the most comforting words you’ve heard in a long time. God does not repaint what He painted before the foundations of the earth to fit the life that you’re at right now. He comes with GRACE, MERCY, and POWER to resurrect your life until it once again has ascended and took its place back in line with the picture He created. So, here’s the deal and this is the hard part: (It’s the good part, but it’s the hard part.) > If being broke ain’t in your picture, God’s not going to change the picture; He’s going to change the broke. Come on, this is a little harder. Can I go a little deeper? > If you being split up is not in the picture, He’s not going to rewrite the picture. He’s going to make y’all work this thing out and make forgiveness flow back in your relationship again. Y’all ain’t saying nothing. > If God didn’t paint your picture with that lump in your breast, then God’s not going to change the picture to accommodate the lump. He’s going to shrink the lump until it disappears! I feel like preaching! > If that person you’re dating – some of you just need to send a text message now saying, ‘I’m sorry, you ain’t in my picture. The date’s off.’ Can I say something? I know how people take so seriously – I have people repeat back to me all week what I say. So, I’m accountable for the words that I say. This is a powerful microphone and I say it with great sincerity and sensitivity but I feel like God wants me to say it and you got to test it. See, there’s a lot of people that have lost jobs. Can I submit something to you? What if that wasn’t in your picture? When I say things like, ‘God is bent on getting you to your purpose,’ you have no idea the decisions I refuse to make that God FORCED in my life because on my own I never would have made it. So, listen now, He’ll cut the fountain off, He’ll let the relationship go bad. God will do what He has to do to move you. Do you know how much God loved Elijah? Do you know how powerful it is for a man of God to call down fire from Heaven and consume a wet sacrifice and then lick up all the water? This is no light-weight. I haven’t seen that happen in my ministry in the last couple of weeks. But he went to one place too long. He went to the Brook Cherith and you know what? He leaned back on rocks, laid beside a brook, he wasn’t dealing with the pressures of Baal and Jezebel no more and ravens came and dropped food in his mouth. That’s a nice vacation. And God said, ‘Go to Zarfat. There’s a widow there.’ Ravens, dropping food in your mouth [versus] Widow… He kept laying. The brook dried [up]. Maybe that will help somebody. And my last point is this: Ephesians 3:10 to the intent that now the manifold wisdom of God might be made known by the church [Say, ‘That’s me.’] to the principalities and powers in the heavenly places [Say, ‘That’s the enemy.’], God painted a picture of your life and showed it to Himself. He flipped it around, painted a picture of your life and wants everybody to see what He can do with you. But His ultimate goal is when you’ve LIVED it out, He wants to stick it in satan’s face. And say, ‘I told you! You tried to stop it but I got them there anyhow. You set up every roadblock and stumbling block you could, but look satan, I got them there anyhow!’ Worship Him now. Why are you here? For His pleasure. Leave here today with a fresh pursuit. Not to put a smile on your face but to put a smile on His face. And then the smile will come to you. May the Lord bless you and keep you and make His face shine upon you. Say, ‘I receive that in Jesus’ Name.’ Ron Carpenter, Redemption World Outreach Church “WHY” (Series – Part 3): Whenever God has a PURPOSE, then it is up to God to remove the obstacles.10/25/2011 God is OBLIGATED to move obstacles that stand in the way of purpose.
If God told the children of Israel, ‘I am taking you to a land of milk and honey.’ [Then] Pharaoh is no longer Israel’s problem! So who took care of him? They never lifted a hand. Okay? Now we got a sea in front of us and we got a hoof beat behind us. You know what God did? He took care of the sea and the hoof beats. They didn’t do anything! Because if God’s got somewhere they’re going, Pharaoh and the sea is an obstacle in the purpose – so the battle becomes the Lord’s. Y’all ain’t hearing me yet! All right, we’re out here in the sand and don’t have no food. Okay? So now manna pops up and one time doves start falling out of the sky. Water starts pouring out of rocks. Because God removes the obstacles of thirst and hunger, because of the PURPOSE the obstacle and the battle is God’s. Do you see what I’m talking about? So whenever God has a PURPOSE, then it is up to God to remove the obstacles. Now, the reason you can’t get God in every battle in your life is because all of your battles do NOT threaten your purpose. Okay? > Some of you want God to fix your money. >> Okay, God wants you to balance your checkbook. Do you see what I’m talking about. You got many challenges in life and all of them do not demand God’s attention, but they demand YOURs. But when you come against my purpose, God shows up! I said I frustrated many of my colleagues because the greatest battles in my ministry – some of them I refused to fight. Because I knew down in me although the scrutiny was so intense, I felt like at times I was going to fall a part. But I knew it wasn’t my battle because what they were coming against was the purpose God birthed me in this world and put me in this place. And now it’s time for God to part the Red Sea and take care of Pharaoh. And so I have to have the faith to wait and watch God show up on my behalf. This battle is God’s. This battle ain’t yours. > Quit fretting it. > Quit sweating it. > Quit staying up all night. This is God’s battle; it is not your battle. “I declare to you this day, every mountain shall be made a leveled place. Every lo place shall be brought high. Every high place shall be brought lo. Streams will be made in the desert.” [saith God] Halleluiah! His battle is the Lord’s! I got one more point I got to make. Now, I don’t have time to go hit this, but you got to understand everybody ain’t going to be happy about your purpose. You need to know that. See, when you start pursuing the pleasure of God for putting you here, it not only forces you to make decisions, it forces those around you to make decisions. You’ve created weirdness for everybody connected with you. The purpose of God affects those that relate to you. Matthew 10:34 “Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword. Now look what Jesus said. He said, ‘Don’t think that I came to bring peace.’ Why don’t anybody preach these verses? I never turn on TBN and hear anybody preach any of these verses! ‘I didn’t come to bring peace. I came to bring a sword.’ Next verse: Matthew 10:35-36 For I have come to ‘set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law’; and ‘a man’s enemies will be those of his own household.’ The hardest one to see you going anywhere are the family members that know you best. It’s easy for you to tell somebody who you just met you’re going to medical school, but your family who saw you fail the 3rd grade twice… go tell them! You get a totally different response. And the irony is those closest to you become your battle. Ron Carpenter, Redemption World Outreach Church |
